Terms & conditions
Our Role as Agent
Glorious Game acts as an agent for the Estate. Your contract is directly with the Estate, meaning the Estate is responsible for fulfilling its commitments, including anything we do on its behalf.
Payments
Any extra birds shot beyond the agreed bag, as well as additional charges (e.g. cartridges, gun hire), will be invoiced separately and must be paid within 14 days.
All payments should be made to Glorious Game as the Estate’s agent. The invoice amount is in GBP, and you must cover any currency conversion or bank charges.
Late payments may result in cancellation or an 8% annual interest charge.
Changes & Cancellations by You
You may cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund.
After 14 days, if you cancel, the Estate will attempt to rebook your shoot. If unsuccessful, you remain liable for the full cost.
A £500 admin fee applies to all cancellations. Loaders cancelled within 48 hours will still require payment of £100 + VAT per loader.
Cancellations by the Estate
The Estate may cancel or exclude individuals if:
A participant does not meet legal requirements.
A participant behaves irresponsibly or unsafely.
Adverse weather or external factors beyond the Estate’s control prevent the shoot. In such cases, alternative dates may be offered.
If the Estate cancels for other reasons, it will cover reasonable losses as outlined in our terms.
Liability
Glorious Game is not responsible for the Estate’s commitments or actions.
The Estate is responsible for any injury or damage caused by its actions or negligence.
Shooting is at your own risk, and the Estate is not liable for indirect losses.
Legal Requirements
All shooters must have a valid UK Shotgun Certificate or an Overseas Visitors Shotgun Permit and present it on the day.
If you or your guests cannot provide valid documentation, the Estate reserves the right to exclude them without refund.
Glorious Game can assist in obtaining permits if notified in advance.
Safety
Safety is the top priority.
Anyone with less than 10 days’ driven game shooting experience must use an estate loader or instructor.
No shooting under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or serious medical conditions.
All shooters must follow the Code of Good Shooting Practice and comply with safety briefings and instructions from the shoot manager.
What’s Included?
The Estate provides:
A safety briefing, transport on the shoot, beaters, pickers-up, lunch, and drinks for up to nine guns.
The services of a shoot manager throughout the day.
What’s not included:
Guns, cartridges, gratuities for keepers/loaders, and loader services (available for an additional fee of £80 per day).
The Bag
The expected bag will be agreed by the estate (+/- 10%).
If you agree to exceed this, a per-bird surcharge (plus VAT) applies, payable within 14 days.
If insufficient sporting opportunity is provided, the Estate may offer recompense at its discretion.
Insurance & Refunds
If adverse weather prevents the shoot from starting by 11:00 AM and no shots are fired, a refund may be available under Glorious Game’s refund agreement.
Each gun has third-party liability cover up to £5 million, provided they have at least two years of shooting experience or are accompanied by an experienced loader or instructor.
Legal Matters
This contract is governed by English law, with disputes settled in English courts.
Payment of any part of your booking confirms your acceptance of these terms.
